The new national standard will be implemented in 2027, driving comprehensive upgrades in industrial technology and quality while phasing out backward production capacity.
In line with international standard ISO 2531, product compatibility has been greatly enhanced.
The New National Standard GB/T 13295-2026
It will be officially implemented on March 1, 2027, bringing three major technical changes.

The grading system is adjusted. K-class pipes classified by wall thickness are phased out, and only C-class pipes rated by working pressure are retained. K-class pipes will gradually withdraw from the Chinese market.

For small-diameter pipes of DN300 and below, epoxy lining is for water supply pipes to elevate drinking water hygiene standards. For drainage pipes, this process is recommended but not compulsory.

The nominal diameter range is expanded from DN80-DN2600 to DN80-DN3000, making it better suited for large trunk pipeline projects.
